PINCH AND ADRIAN SHERWOOD - LIVE SESSION STREAMING
Fact magazine drops an exclusive live set excerpt from Adrian Sherwood and Pinch, each a dub pioneer in their own right, but from different generations. Whilst Pinch has been a figurehead of Bristol’s significant dubstep scene, founded one of the genre’s most important record labels in Tectonic, and pushed the genre’s boundaries with his own productions; Sherwood is considered one of the chief pioneers of UK dub and has helmed the brilliant On-U Sound label since the early 80s.A joint 12”,Bring Me Weed, and a live show at Sonar Barcelona next month, is set to follow. For now, enjoy this rehearsal exert from rehearsals earlier this year; and if it leaves you wanting more, check out this high quality video of the boys in action in Tokyo last month. (props to Fact).
Nu Era // The Third Adam
4hero’s Marc Mac returns to his Nu Era vehicle (used to showcase his more Detroit techno influences and originally a 4hero outlet) for the first time since 2003’s Some Think Electronic. Whilst it’s still steeped in the history of classic techno from the D, Marc’s background in broken beat, jazz fusion and soul is never far away. For now, you can enjoy this five-track sampler, and pre-order the full album, which will available digitally and as a limited CD on May 20 through bandcamp.
