PINCH AND ADRIAN SHERWOOD - LIVE SESSION STREAMING
Fact magazine drops an exclusive live set excerpt from Adrian Sherwood and Pinch, each a dub pioneer in their own right, but from different generations. Whilst Pinch has been a figurehead of Bristol’s significant dubstep scene, founded one of the genre’s most important record labels in Tectonic, and pushed the genre’s boundaries with his own productions; Sherwood is considered one of the chief pioneers of UK dub and has helmed the brilliant On-U Sound label since the early 80s.A joint 12”,Bring Me Weed, and a live show at Sonar Barcelona next month, is set to follow. For now, enjoy this rehearsal exert from rehearsals earlier this year; and if it leaves you wanting more, check out this high quality video of the boys in action in Tokyo last month. (props to Fact).
Nu Era // The Third Adam
4hero’s Marc Mac returns to his Nu Era vehicle (used to showcase his more Detroit techno influences and originally a 4hero outlet) for the first time since 2003’s Some Think Electronic. Whilst it’s still steeped in the history of classic techno from the D, Marc’s background in broken beat, jazz fusion and soul is never far away. For now, you can enjoy this five-track sampler, and pre-order the full album, which will available digitally and as a limited CD on May 20 through bandcamp.

A few photos from last night’s Boom Music 01 at Shutterbug London. Some great vibes all around and a wonderful set of african rhythms by Iñigo Ugarteburu.
We are honored to share with you our next colectivo futurist as we’ve been very big fans of his work for quite some time. Chad Kouri is a Chicago based artist who blends his many influences and passions into an immensely diverse body of work, ranging from typographic experiments to collages, wallpapers, and full scale exhibitions and workshops spread across the entire United States. From simply browsing Chad’s online portfolio one can tell he’s got a passion for all things handmade and you can definitely feel his close affinity to working closely with raw materials, in particular paper. While we also appreciate individuals who embrace new ways of creating, tt’s great to see artists that are completely connected to the roots of their craft. We hope you enjoy our interview with Chad, as well as some of our favorite pieces from his vast portfolio by clicking here.

Butterz // 50 Grime sets
Butterz is the label that reminded the world how good grime was, especially the music itself, and led a resurgence in instrumental grime appreciation through strong releases on their label, a show on Rinse FM, intermittent blogging and successful parties at venues such as Cable. Today we felt obliged to share Butterz honcho Elijah’s excellent (2nd) round-up of his favourite grime sets. The few we were already familiar with are certified classics, but there’s a treasure trove right here, much of it from pirate radio, with very early classics from Slimzee, through to recent Butterz specials. As Elijah says, download them all, ASAP, especially as a few of the links have died already. Radio was the true home of grime, so get your lessons here.
A couple of years ago I compiled a blog of 50 Grime sets I love. Now most of the links are dead, and 2 years of new sets to add to that collection I thought it would be a good time to compile again.
To me this is Grime in its most exciting form. Especially the sets recorded from raves.
Download them all… Spread them to the people that don’t get it yet, track down the tunes you dont know, show the artists involved love and most importantly enjoy the vibes.

Alex Strohl is a Madrid-born, French photographer. From a very young age, Alex has constantly changed scenery, going from his home in Madrid to the southern coast of France and further on to the northern chills of Quebec, Canada. It’s this ‘traveling around’ that has informed his style of photography and equipped Alex with a stunning sense of curiosity on the unknown. By focusing his lens on details that many of us would probably dismiss upon first look, his photographs evoke a strong sense of tranquility and mystery. We encourage you to check his portfolio here or follow him on Tumblr here.
